Success at School are the UKs leading careers advice platform, designed for students aged 13-19, with the aim of empowering and guiding young individuals to make well-informed decisions about their future. As well as their online space, they also provide printed resources for schools and families.
Success at School approached me to redesign their series of career guides, and roll-out the new styling and layout across the 19 subjects. The guides are packed full of useful information to help teachers deliver careers and employability lessons to students, and so a consistent but adaptable design style was needed to make sure it worked for all content. A big part of the work was sourcing 300+ images to be used across the guides, which were diverse and representative of the audience.

Adding depth to photography ✂️
We introduced collaged style cut-out images, layered with brush strokes and pattern to add depth to the imagery, making stock imagery feel more human and bespoke to Success at School.
Subject specific illustrations
The illustrations needed to match the subject matter, so the super talented Chloe developed an illustration kit, where we could quickly change clothing and skin tone, making sure there was a diverse range of people portrayed in the guides.
